VSCE provided Communications and Community Outreach services to VTA BART - Silicon Valley (San Jose-Milpitas, CA).
Project Outreach Liaison serves as interface between the design-builder and project owner, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), providing internal and external outreach support for the $772 million line track and stations portion of the $2.3 billion BART Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension Project. Effectively addresses questions and concerns about the project from all-level stakeholders. Established a 24-hour Construction Hotline for the project and successfully linked the system to the existing VTA hotline system for ease of constituent access. VSCE staff also established contractor and VTA communications databases to log interaction with constituents. Key roles include providing description of design-build work activities in order to adhere to master agreements with local municipalities, create and maintain social media outlets for the contractors develop and update web content. Interfaces with project designers and engineers, attend weekly segment and progress meetings, provide written collateral for the VTA Outreach Team, communicate on behalf of the design-build contractor for right of way negotiations, third party utility support and community interface where appropriate. Provide relevant information to local publications for the design-builder as needed and coordinate interviews for project executives for major activities.
